Ararat

In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4). As with many ancient claims, there is some debate as to whether our specific Mt. Ararat is THE Mt. Ararat, but there is some compelling evidence that indeed it is the mountain where Noah’s ark came to rest, see our ‘Of İnterest / Significance’ section above for multiple articles. This eastern-most region of Türkiye is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. A proper hike/climb to the top will require several days, altitude acclimation, and very good physical condition, even with the use of pack mules.
